You may have seen this sparkly trend taking over the mouths of some pretty famous people recently. A tiny gem or crystal bonded to one or two teeth, Tooth Bling is the newest subtle flex as seen on celebrities from Ariana Grande to Katy Perry and more. Also known as Tooth Jewelry, this isn’t your average accessory. Different from a grill, which is typically a gold mold you can easily remove, Tooth Bling is actually glued to a tooth (or two) with non-hazardous adhesive.
Dating as far back at the 9th century, Mayans have been documented inlaying their teeth with jade and turquoise stones and some Native American tribes have been said to have decorated their smiles with a little bling over 2,500 years ago. Of course, we all know gold grills made their way into the 80s and 90s hip-hop culture proving that dressing up your teeth can be an important part of one’s overall beauty aesthetic.
Thanks in part to L.A based Tooth Kandy, we’ve seen a rise in popularity recently in this beauty trend. And it’s not just for women, stars like Drake have been seen with a pink diamond shiny from his pearly whites too.
We recently began offering this service at Beautique and our clients and staff are LOVING this look. We realize you may have a few questions before jumping into some bling so we asked our girl Karla Cruz to answer some FAQs below. Don’t sleep on this trend! Book in today and be the first of your crew to dress up you fangs.
